LETTER CARRIER FORCEBACK SEASONAL ALERT!


THE FORCEBACK SEASON IS UPON US AND UNLIKE OTHER VIRUSES (H1N1) THERE IS NO VACCINE! THE ONLY PROTECTION FOR THE FORCEBACK SEASONAL VIRUS IS TO HAVE CLEAR DOCUMENTATION AND FILE GRIEVANCES! IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ALL LETTER CARRIERS TO SHARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF COLLECTING IMPORTANT INFORMATION. IN ORDER TO PROTECT OURSELVES FROM THE FORCEBACK VIRUS MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE PRESCRIPTION AS FOLLOWS:



- Names of employees and Depot that were forced back;

- Date that Force back occurred;

- Written statement from employee that was forced back;

- Copy of Compulsory Overtime (Force back) List;

- Specific statements from Shop Stewards or others to attest to the fact that the employer did not attempt to contact Temp. Letter Carriers that are on the call in list;

- Any written statements from Temps. that confirm they were not contacted to come to work on the dates that there was force back and if contacted they would have worked;
