Outgoing EMPP Director T. Dixon advised CUPW President Bev Bay before Christmas that management are increasing the number of new Part Time PO4 positions to be added with the Annual Bid changeover in January. The increase will now be a total of 33.
The Parcel Hub MSC restructure is resuming, following the Parcel Delivery Rate sampling in September-October. Results show the new rates will be similar or better (for us) than the current ones, and management states that parcel volumes from the PDSL keying stations over the past year (excluding July, August and December) are actually up! (This despite months of moaning and groaning from Operations management about routes going out under-capacity).
The Local will be consulting with the employer in January on the new delivery rates and the parcel volume base. Union Observer for the restructure will be Todd Brooks.
